In 1946, my grandfather, William Buis,
purchased 160 acres North of Holland to
raise silver fox for their prized fur.
Now, four generations later, my
daughters are an integral part of the
suri alpaca farm on the same property.
I am a "retired" bank VP turned
stay-at-home mom. My husband is self
employed as an independent insurance
agent. We had raised Golden Retrievers
for nearly 10 years and have always had
a love for animals. In 1997, when we
heard about alpacas and started our
research all the answers came back "that
would really work for us." Trees were
cleared, shelters built and fence posts
set. As they say, "the rest is history".
Our small farm has claimed national
respect through the quality of our
alpacas, our integrity, and our careful
attention to health.
Our sights are focused on lustrous, and
tightly locked suri's of great
conformation and presence. It's the
basis for all of our breeding decisions.
We will remain small which means we are
intently focused on your satisfaction.
